- Ball State is off to its best start in program history. The Cardinals remained undefeated (8-0) after its 69-56 win over Southeast Missouri State Thursday night in Worthen Arena.
- The Cardinals remain one of 14 teams in the nation that are still undefeated. The win over Purdue gave sixth year head coach Brady Sallee his second win over a Power 5 conference this season; Vanderbilt (88-79, 11/20) and Purdue (66-60, 12/04).
- Against SEMO, for the 62nd time in her career, senior forward Moriah Monaco scored in double figures leading the team after a 17-point performance. Junior guard Jasmin Samz scored 13 points while teammates senior forward Destiny Washington finished the night with 12 and freshman forward Oshlynn Brown had 10. Senior guard Frannie Frazier led all players with a career best 11 rebounds.
- Senior forward Moriah Monaco was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for her performance last week against Butler. It marked the third time in Monaco's career she had received the honor. Against the Bulldogs, Monaco registered a 23-point performance off of 62 percent shooting.
- Oakland City enters tonight's contest with a 2-5 ledger. The Mighty Oaks are coming off of a 60-42 loss against UIndy Saturday afternoon at Nicoson Hall.
- Sunday's contest against Oakland City is the first time the two school's have met since the Cardinals hosted the Mighty Oaks in an exhibition game Nov. 4 in 2014. Ball State won that game, 116-29.
- A win over Oakland City tonight will give Ball State an 9-0 start to the season which would be the first time in program history the Cardinals have accomplished that feat. The longest winning streak in program history occurred during the 2006-07 season when Ball State won 11-straight from Dec. 22 to Jan. 27.
