Women’s Swimming Concludes Day Two of Miami Invite

OXFORD, Ohio – The Ball State women's swimming team finished day two of the Miami Invitational with a total of 252 points.
Once again, the relay was a great way to start off the day for the Cardinals. Audrey Schank, Amanda Kedzierski, Andrea Richter and Peighton Gilbert earned a fourth place spot in the 200 medley relay to earn 34 points (1:43.63). Anne Vormohr, Cailin Merck, Maryn Meldrum, and Lauren Elston marked a time of 1:48.07 to earn 13th place also in the 200 medley relay. Right behind them was Mikayla Dostall, Mason Dahman, Sophie Bader, and Liz Madison with a time of 1:48.51.
Bader earned four individual points with her 15th place finish in the 400 IM (4:35.67). Richter racked up some points of her own in the 100 butterfly and in the 100 backstroke. Richter posted a time of 56.86 to earn eighth place and 13 points in the 100 fly while marking a time of 57.07 in the 100 backstroke. Schank and Vormohr earned also points in the 100 backstroke after finishing sixth and 10th respectively. Kedzierski was another Cardinal that added points through her individual event. Kedzierski touched the wall at 1:05.09 in the 100 breaststroke, earning six points.
The team earned 24 points with their ninth place finish in the 800 freestyle relay. Schank, Kayla Molnar, Audrey Mayer and Elston recorded a time of 7:57.10 to earn that ninth place spot. The Cardinals were also able to earn the 13th place spot in the 800 freestyle relay (8:04.08).
The Ball State swimming team will round out the final day of the Miami Invite all day tomorrow in Oxford.
