A Look at the Cardinals
• Ball State welcomes IUPUI to Muncie for the third consecutive season. The teams split the previous two meetings with the Cardinals winning in 2015 and IUPUI taking last year's game.
• Ball State has won its past two games behind a balanced offensive attack, placing five scorers in double figures against both Indiana State and Oakland City.
• Sophomore forward Tahjai Teague ranks among the top 10 in the Mid-American Conference in field goal percentage (.644, 3rd), steals (1.7, 6th) and rebounding (7.7, 7th). Teague is also averaging double-figure scoring at 10.4 points per game.
• Ball State's depth is evidenced by the fact the Cardinals' bench is outscoring the opponents' bench by an average of 6.0 points per game. The Ball State bench accounts for 37.4 percent of the team's total minutes.
• BSU is in the midst of a nine-game stretch inside the state of Indiana. The team's only remaining road contest during non-conference play comes Tuesday at Notre Dame. The Cardinals will not leave the state again until their third MAC game Jan. 9 at Ohio.
• The Cardinals have played the 14th-most difficult schedule in the country, according to Ken Pomeroy. BSU checks in at No. 137 in the KenPom rankings, just behind Buffalo (125) and Western Michigan (126) among MAC teams.
• Tuesday's win over Oakland City was the 1,200th victory in program history. The Cardinals own an all-time record of 1,200-1,117-1 in 97 years of competition, dating back to 1920.
Scouting IUPUI
• IUPUI is coming off a 90-77 loss Tuesday at Western Illinois, dropping the Jaguars to 0-3 on the road.
• The Jaguars feature a pair of double-figure scorers in senior forward Aaron Brennan (14.4 ppg) and senior guard Ron Patterson (11.8).
• IUPUI is forcing 16.4 turnovers per game to rank 61st nationally in that category.
• The Jaguars are in their first season as a member of the Horizon League and their fourth year under the direction of head coach Jason Gardner.
• The team went 14-18 overall last season and 7-9 in its final year of Summit League play.
