Mike Neu Interview - Central Michigan Week
October 16, 2017 | Football
What the Cardinals worked on during the open week …
"We got a chance to step back and look at some of the things we're doing really well and some things we practiced for a couple days. We really focused on technique and individual work, competing against each other and trying to restore some fun to practice."
On returning to Scheumann Stadium after three straight road games …
"It's going to be nice to play back home in Scheumann Stadium. We're 2-0 here at home. We take a lot of pride in protecting our house, so that is something we want to focus on."
On the injury front …
"We just have to rally around the guys that are playing. We all have to put our best foot forward and make sure we take ownership in our job. No finger pointing. Everybody's got to do their part. We can win football games no matter who is in the lineup. We just have to make sure we rally around them."
Looking at Central Michigan …
"They've got some experienced players in that lineup … They are going to be coming in here hungry. It's going to be a physical game; it always is with Central Michigan. Every week is a new week and every week is a new challenge. We need to make sure we defend our home turf."
Homecoming memories from 1993 comeback win over Toledo …
"Certainly the most fun game I've ever been a part of. That's one of those that you try to impress on your young team that it's never over in this league … It couldn't have looked any worse [than being down 30-3], but we just stayed the course and kept fighting, scratching and clawing. It ended up being a great day that day at Scheumann Stadium."
