A Look at the Cardinals
• Ball State continues Mid-American Conference play Tuesday at home against Miami. It is the third in a stretch of four games against MAC East Division opponents to open league play.
• Miami has split its first two conference games, both against the MAC West Division, defeating Northern Illinois 69-67 at home and falling to Toledo 91-76 on the road. Michael Weathers leads the RedHawks at 17.9 points and 5.3 assists per game.
• The teams met three times last season with Ball State winning both regular season meetings but Miami defeating the Cardinals in the first round of the MAC Tournament.
• Ball State is coming off a 76-71 home loss Saturday to Bowling Green. Tayler Persons scored a game-high 21 points and Franko House had a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds), but Bowling Green outscored the Cardinals 41-33 in the second half after trailing by three at half.
• Ball State pulled down a season-high 22 offensive rebounds against Bowling Green, marking the most for the program against a Division I opponent since a Jan. 12, 2013 game against Kent State (23). The Cardinals held a 47-34 overall rebounding advantage against BGSU.
• Senior forward Franko House pulled down seven offensive boards in the Bowling Green game to move into seventh on Ball State's career list for offensive rebounds (stat kept since 1986-87). House now has 246 for his career, two shy of Bonzi Wells (1994-98) for the No. 6 spot. Steve Payne (1992-95) tops the list with 321.
• Tayler Persons is averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 assists per game through two conference contests, scoring 15 of his 37 total points at the foul line. He is one of five Ball State players averaging double-figure scoring in league play, along with Franko House (14.0), Ryan Weber (10.5), Trey Moses (10.0) and Sean Sellers (10.0).
