Men’s Swimming and Diving Had Strong Showing at Butler Invite

FISHERS, Ind. – The Ball State men's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place on Sunday with a final score of 377 in the Butler Invite.

The men's swimming and diving team will return home to take on Evansville on Saturday, Jan. 28. Meet time is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Top performances of the day were:
- Junior Isaac Walling had an eighth place finish in the 1650 freestyle at 16:57.83 and an 11th place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.49.
- Senior JD Middleton placed 12th in the 1650 freestyle with a final time of 17:36.36. Middleton also had a 13th place finish with a time of 5:04.72 in the 500 freestyle.
- Freshman Jack Luddy earned a 13th place finish after touching the wall at 17:49.39. With a time of 5:07.56, Luddy earned a 15th place finish in the 500 freesetyle.
- Freshman Chase Jackson had a time of 54.70 in the 100 backstroke, earning an 11th place finish. Jackson also touched the wall at 2:00.26 in the 200 backstroke and earned a 12th place finish.
- Freshman Logan Ackley's time of 55.29 earned him a 12th place finish in the 100 backstroke. Ackley also earned a sixth place finish in the 200 backstroke (1:57.85).
- Sophomore Cullen Tyler had a ninth place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.02) and a 10th place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.06).
- Sophomore Luke Nondorf had a time of 1:01.49 and earned an 11th place finish in the 100 breaststroke. Nondorf also placed 14th in the 50 freestyle (22.43) and a 13th place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.48).
- Junior Zach Toman earned a 13th place finish in the 100 breaststroke at 1:02.05.
- Sophomore Zach Reichle finished the 100 breaststroke in 14th with a time of 1:02.16.
- The Cardinals placed four in the top 16 in the 200 butterfly and in the 100 butterfly. Senior Tanner Barton earned a second place finish with a time of 1:54.03 in the 200 fly and earned a fourth place finish in the 100 fly (51.38). Senior Bradley Ridge placed sixth in the 200 fly (1:58.48) and seventh in the 100 fly (52.81). Sophomore Alec Tuthill's time of 2:00.43 earned him a ninth place finish in the 200 fly. Tuthill earned a 13th place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 53.84. Senior Jacob Eckert placed 13th in the 200 fly (2:00.66) and 10th in the 100 fly (53.75).
- Freshman Ben Andrew had a fifth place finish in the 50 freestyle at 21.66 and a 10th place finish in the 100 freestyle at 48.50. Andrew also earned an 11th place finish in the 200 IM at 1:59.46.
- Senior Austin Green earned a sixth place finish in the 50 freestyle after touching the wall at 21.88. Green also earned a seventh place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.08.
- Junior Banistre Lienhart's time of 22.50 placed him in 15th in the 50 freestyle.
- Sophomore Gabe Dean earned a score of 203.65 in the 1-meter dive and a score of 209.80 in the 3-meter dive.
The men's swimming and diving team will return home to take on Evansville on Saturday, Jan. 28. Meet time is set to begin at 1 p.m.
