KeVonn Mabon Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State football player KeVonn Mabon was recently named to the 2016 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. Mabon was one of eight Mid-American Conference players to be named to the prestigious list.
The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the college football season's outstanding receiver. Anyone who catches a pass, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back or inside receiver, or running back) is eligible to win the Biletnikoff Award. Founded in 1994, the Biletnikoff Award is a season, not career, award.
Mabon, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, enters the 2016 season with 1,890 career receiving yards, which ranks 10th on the school's all-time list. He finished second on the team in both receptions (70) and receiving yards (745) last fall. Mabon piled up a team season-high 150 yards receiving in the 2015 win over UMass and then posted another 100-yard receiving game two weeks later at Ohio (139). The third-year starter totaled 312 all-purpose yards at Ohio on Nov. 17, which was the 10th highest total by any player at the FBS level in 2015.
The Biletnikoff Award was created and is sponsored by Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., (TQC Foundation). The TQC Foundation will announce the ten semifinalists on Nov. 14, following the vote by the members of the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee. Likewise, three finalists will be declared, following another vote, on Nov. 22. The 2016 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on Dec. 8 on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show, which will be televised on ESPN from 7 to 9 p.m.
