Women?s S&D Announces 2016-17 Schedule

MUNICE, Ind. - - Ball State women's swimming & diving fifth-year head coach Kristy Patterson announced the team's schedule for the 2016-17 season, which is highlighted by home meets versus Bowling Green (Nov. 4) and Notre Dame (Feb. 4).
The Cardinals begin their march towards the 2017 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Oct. 8 with their annual Red / White intrasquad scrimmage. Two weeks later, the team officially opens the season at the Indiana Intercollegiate (Oct. 22) hosted by Purdue.
Ball State rounds out the month of October with a MAC dual meet at Akron (Oct. 28). The Cardinals' first home meet will take place Nov. 4, when league foe Bowling Green visits the Lewellen Aquatic Center. From there, the Cardinals return to the road for dual meets at Illinois State (Nov. 11) and Grand Valley State (Nov. 19).
The team closes the 2016 fall semester by traveling to Oxford, Ohio, for the Miami Invitational (Dec. 1-3). Following the holiday break, the Cardinals return to the road for back-to-back double dual meets versus IUPUI/Xavier (Jan. 6) and Indiana State/Eastern Illinois (Jan. 20).
Ball State visits Miami (Jan. 28) for another MAC dual meet before hosting Notre Dame (Feb. 4) for senior day in its final dual contest of the season. The Cardinals close out the regular season Feb. 11-12 at the Ohio State Invitational.
Championship season begins Feb. 22-25 when the team makes its third trip of the season to Oxford, Ohio, for the MAC Championships. The NCAA Zone Diving Championships will be held March 9-11 in Bloomington, while the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships will run March 16-18 in Indianapolis.
The Ball State women's swimming & diving program returns 23 student-athletes from last season's team which was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for both the 2015 fall and 2016 spring semesters. Looking to lead the team over the course of the 2016-17 season will be senior captains Courtney Mudd and Kimberly Scott.
