Andersen & Stutz Receive Academic All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Juniors Lucas Andersen and Andrew Stutz of the Ball State men's tennis team have been named to the 2016 Academic-All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office. This is the second for Andersen and first for Stutz.
Andersen, a biology major, owns a 3.79 GPA. He received All-MAC First Team honors and shared MAC Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Year honors, with Stjepan Sisko of Toledo. Andersen becomes only the seventh Cardinal in program history to receive MAC Player of the Year honors since it started in 1997. The last time Ball State had a player receive the honor was Eduardo Pavia in 2009-10. Andersen finished the season with a 19-13 overall record and led the team with a 6-1 conference ledger. Andersen is also a two-time All-MAC Second Team recipient.
Stutz, owns a 3.98 GPA and is working towards a degree in political science. He was named All-MAC Second Team for the first time in his career this season. Stutz ended the season with a 16-16 overall mark and a 4-3 MAC record. Stutz posted a 5-2 doubles mark on the top court during MAC action with teammate Conner Andersen.
