Women?s Tennis Wins MAC Tourney, Earns NCAA Bid

MATCH RESULTS
OXFORD, Ohio -- The Ball State women's tennis team won the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship for the first time Sunday.
The Cardinals, who also won the league's regular season title, defeated No. 3 seed Western Michigan 4-0 in the championship match at Miami University's Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts.
Ball State won the doubles point and picked up singles wins from Peyton Gollhofer (No. 1) and Rosalinda Calderon (No. 6). Then, with three matches in the third set, Carmen Blanco sealed a 6-3, 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot to clinch the championship.
Ball State improved to 22-3 and earned the MAC's automatic berth in the NCAA Championships. The team will learn its first-round opponent Tuesday at 5 p.m. on the NCAA selection show, which will stream live on ncaa.com.
