Stutz Earns MAC Tennis Weekly Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State men's tennis player Andrew Stutz was named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday.
Stutz started the weekend off with a straight set, 6-4, 6-4, victory over Northern Illinois' Louis-Philippe Hamel at the No. 2 singles position. He also won on the top court in doubles action with teammate Conner Andersen, helping the Cardinals claim the doubles point over the Huskies. Stutz's victories led the Cardinals to a 4-3 win at Northern Illinois, April 2. With the win over the Huskies, Stutz has improved his Mid-American Conference record to 3-1 on the season.
On Sunday, Stutz competed at No. 15 Illinois where he played on court two for Ball State. He also competed at No. 1 doubles against the Fighting Illini.
The Ball State men's tennis team will be back in action Saturday when it hosts Taylor University at 2 p.m.
