Women's Tennis Earns 4-3 Victory Over James Madison

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Ball State women's tennis team continued it's spring success with a 4-3 victory over James Madison Friday afternoon. The win gives the Cardinals their ninth straight as they conclude their road trip to Florida.
With the win, the Caridnals improve to 12-2 on the season while James Madison falls to 8-3.
The Cardinals continued to dominate in doubles action after winning the point over the Duke Dogs. Ball State fell behind early to JMU as Julia Sbircea and Toni Ormond dropped a 6-0 decision to James Madison's Abby Amos and Rebecca Harris on the top court. The Cardinals bounced back with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to clinch the point over the Duke Dogs.
In singles action, Carmen Blanco and Peyton Gollhofer each won their matches on their respective courts to put the Cardinals up 3-0 over James Madison. JMU's Rebecca Harris pulled off a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 defeat over Sbircea at the No. 5 position to make the score 3-1. Toni Ormond then clinched the victory for the Caridnals after she took down Emma Petersen 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) on court four.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action on the road Friday, March 18 at Wright State with a 7 p.m. first serve.
