Two Divers Complete The First Day Of NCAA Diving Zones

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior Madie Zirzow and junior Quinn Bixler competed in the one-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone C Championships on Thursday afternoon.
Zirzow finished in the preliminaries with a score of 239.10 to finish 23rd overall, while Bixler finished 35th with a score of 220.15. Neither of the Cardinals advanced to the finals, which took the 18 highest scores from prelims.
Mid-American Conference foe Miami University's Pei Lin snagged the top spot of the competition with a score of 309.75 in prelims for a total of 629.05, while Purdue's Mary-Best Dunnichay followed in second at 623.10 and Southern Illinois' Kaixuan Zhang rounded out the top three with a score of 618.35.
DiveMeets.com will be running live results throughout the meet, with three-meter prelim action beginning at 1 p.m. and finals to follow directly after.
There were 12 berths to the NCAA Championships available in the one-meter, along with seven entries in the three-meter from Zone C this year. In order to advance from prelims to finals, divers must finish in the top-18.
