- The Ball State women's basketball team continues its two-game Mid-American Conference West Division road trip when it plays at Eastern Michigan Saturday with a 2 p.m. tipoff in the Convocation Center. The Cardinals defeated the Eagles in their first meeting in Worthen Arena by a score of 76-54 on Jan. 20. Ball State is looking to bounce back from its 67-66 heartbreaking loss at Central Michigan Wednesday night while Eastern Michigan is looking to extend a five-game win streak after defeating Toledo 58-46 in Savage Arena. If the Cardinals defeat Eastern Michigan Saturday, Ball State will clinch a first-round bye to the upcoming 2016 MAC Tournament in Cleveland (March 9-12). Ball State has two games remaining in the MAC regular season at home against Northern Illinois (March 2) and then at Toledo (March 5).
- The Cardinals had three players in double figures at Central Michigan with Nathalie Fontaine leading the charge after scoring 19 points while pulling down 11 rebounds for her 32nd double-double of her career. After tonight's performance, Fontaine has 2,055 career points and is 37 shy of becoming Ball State women's basketball all-time leading scorer. Moriah Monaco performed well after chipping in 17 points which included four three point baskets. Renee Bennett closed out the double digit scoring with 16 points and added seven rebounds.
-The last time Ball State went 10-2 at home was in 2006-07 under former head women's basketball coach Tracy Roller. That season the Cardinals went 10-1 in John E. Worthen Arena with Ball State's only loss coming against Ohio (66-77) on Jan. 27, 2007. Ball State also posted a 14-1 mark at home in 2008-09 under former head coach Kelly Packard with the only loss coming against Temple.
- Head coach Brady Sallee emphasizes how important points in the paint are to him and the Cardinals have listened this season. Ball State has outscored all of their opponents in the paint but six this season.
