Four Women's Swimmers Take On Ohio State Winter Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will have four participants at the annual Ohio State Winter Invitational from Feb. 13-14, including freshmen Mason Dahman, Audrey Mayer and Taylor Miles, as well as sophomore Jenna Zitkus.
The first day of the event will feature the 500 free, 100 fly, 100 breast, 100 back, 400 IM and 100 freestyle prelims and finals, as well as the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay competition before the long course timed trials to round out the day's action.
Sunday will feature the prelims and finals of the 200 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 50 free, 200 fly and 200 IM, in addition to the finals of the 1650 free, as well as the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay competition.
Mayer has stood out this season for the Cardinals, and ranks third overall of the Ball State squad in two different events, including the 50 free (25.06) and 200 backstroke (2:08.80). Mayer also ranks third overall in the 100 freestyle with a 54.48 season-best.
In her sophomore season, Zitkus has clocked the top time for the Cardinals in the 100 backstroke with a 57.74 final. Other individual season-bests for Zitkus include the 500 freestyle (5:35.05) and 100 butterfly (58.46).
Dahman marks the fourth best overall time of the Ball State squad in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.79), fifth overall in both the 200 breast (5:29.67) and 200 IM (2:13.10) events. Some of fellow freshman Miles' season-bests include the 100 butterfly (59.67), 200 fly (2:16.46), 100 backstroke (1:00.88) and the 200 back (2:15.45).
Looking ahead, the Ball State women's swimming and diving team will take on the Women's Mid-American Conference Championships from Feb. 24-27 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
