Opening Tip
• Ball State will play the third game in a six-game homestand Tuesday when it hosts Bradley for the back end of a home-and-home series. The teams met in last year's season opener in Peoria, Illinois, with Bradley pulling out a 54-53 win.

• Bradley split a pair of games last week, winning at Eastern Illinois, 87-83 in overtime, and falling at home to Nevada, 91-69. Darrell Brown leads the Braves in scoring at 13.6 points per game.

• Ball State had a streak of three straight games of better than 50 percent shooting snapped in Saturday's loss to IUPUI. The Cardinals were above the 50 percent mark early in the second half but cooled off considerably to finish the game at 40.3 percent. The team now ranks second in the Mid-American Conference at 47.1 percent for the season.

• The Cardinals feature a balanced offensive attack with five players averaging more than 9.0 points per game and seven averaging better than 7.0.

• Junior guard Francis Kiapway has heated up over the past three games. A 40 percent 3-point shooter for his career, Kiapway made only 3 of his first 21 attempts from deep this season. But he has made 12 of 22 (54.5 percent) over the past three games.

• Sophomore point guard Tayler Persons is averaging 8.0 assists per game over the past five contests, including a career-high 14 against IU Kokomo (11/29) and 10 against Southern Utah (11/23). Persons' 14 assists in the IU Kokomo game are the most by any player in the country in a single game this year.

• Ball State's current six-game homestand is the longest for the program since the 1992-93 team opened its season with six straight at home.
