Lamping and Hall Named To Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

MUNCIE, Ind. - Former Ball State women's basketball player Donna (Lamping) Hoeing will be inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, April, 29, 2017, along with former assistant coach Charlie Hall. The announcement was made Wednesday by the Indiana High School Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
Lamping was a four-year letterwinner for the Cardinals from 1982-85. She ended her career at Ball State as the program's all-time leading scorer, totaling 1,104 points in 93 career games. Lamping was a two-time Academic All-American and received Ball State's Female Athlete of the Year award for the 1984-85 season. Later in her career, she was named to Ball State's 1980 All-Decade Team.
Lamping is a native of Batesville, Indiana, where she was a four-year starter for Batesville High School. During her tenure at Batesville she recorded 1,553 career points and 845 rebounds, including a single-game record of 40 points.
After graduating from Ball State, Lamping (Hoeing) became a math teacher at Batesville High School and girls basketball coach. She was an assistant from 1985-1991, and served as head coach from 1991-95 and then again in 1999-2000. Lamping led the Bulldogs to three secitonal titles during her coaching tenure.
Hall a native of Kokomo, Indiana was an outstanding player and coach in the state of Indiana. He was an assistant coach at Ball State during the 2007-08 season under former Ball State head women's basketball coach Tracy Roller. Hall is also the uncle of former Cardinal standout guard Audrey McDonald-Spencer, who is presently an assistant coach for the Cardinals.
