Women’s Swimming and Diving Adds Two New Recruits for the 2017-18 Season
November 28, 2016 | Women's Swimming and Diving
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team is excited to announce the addition to the Cardinal family with the signing of two recruits for the 2017-18 season.
Joining the team are Kayla Molnar (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn High School) and Audrey Schank (St. Joseph, Mo./Central High School).
Kayla Molnar is a three-time sectional champion, three-time NIC champion, and a three-time state finalist. Ball State head coach Kristy Patterson is excited to add Molnar to the family and ready to see the immediate impact she will have next season.
"Kayla is a huge addition to our Cardinal family," said Patterson. "She will be an immediate impact in our program and within the MAC in the mid-distance and distance events. Kayla will also be an asset on our relays. Her character, personality, work ethic and talent were our biggest attractions to her. We can't wait for her to get started!"
Audrey Schank, a top 20 recruit in the state of Missouri, is a conference champion, All-State backstroker and trains year-round with Club North (KC). Coach Patterson is sure that with the addition of Schank, the Cardinals will see an improvement in the conference.
"We are excited for the addition of Audrey to our Ball State swimming and diving program," said Patterson. "She will step right in for us on relays, the backstroke and freestyle sprints. Her impact in the MAC will be key in our continued rise in the conference standings. Audrey meshes right in with our team and our culture. She has great vision for her future in academics and in athletics as a Cardinal."
Molnar and Schank will step onto campus and continue their swimming careers next fall.
