A Look at the Cardinals
• Ball State opens its home schedule Tuesday night against Indiana State. It is the only game in the first six the Cardinals will play on their home floor.
• The Cardinals and Sycamores will be meeting for the 131st time. Ball State has played no opponent more often in its history. Indiana State holds a 72-58 lead in the all-time series, but the Cardinals hold a 40-22 advantage in Muncie and a 10-1 lead inside Worthen Arena.
• Ball State jumped 23 spots to No. 111 in the Ken Pomeroy ratings after Friday's season-opening win at Saint Louis. The Cardinals reached as high as No. 127 last season and finished at No. 155 for their best year-end rating since 2004-05.
• The victory at Saint Louis marked the first time Ball State won its first road game of a season since the 2005-06 campaign. The Cardinals won that season at IUPUI, 53-50.
• Ball State is led by preseason All-MAC forward Franko House, who is one of only four players in program history with at least 900 points, 500 rebounds and 175 assists in a career, joining Bonzi Wells (1994-98), Derrick Wesley (1984-88) and Chandler Thompson (1989-92).
• House had never made more than two 3-pointers in a game, but he made two in the first four minutes Friday at Saint Louis. He went on to finish a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc on his way to a career-high 23 points.
• Four Cardinals played their first regular season game for Ball State at Saint Louis -- Tayler Persons (21 points), Tahjai Teague (10), Kyle Mallers (8) and DouDou Gueye (2).
Picking up Where They Left Off
• After making the second-most 3-pointers in program history last season (305), Ball State came out hot from deep against Saint Louis.
• The Cardinals went 13 for 23 from beyond the arc in the opener, with seven different players hitting at least one 3.
• The last time seven Cardinals made at least one trey against a Division I opponent was Jan. 31, 2015 at Miami.
Helping Hand
• Ball State recorded assists on 21 of its 30 made baskets against Saint Louis, led by Sean Sellers with six helpers.
• The Cardinals led the MAC during conference play last season with 15.5 assists per game.
25 Years of Worthen
• Ball State will celebrate the 25-year anniversary of Worthen Arena this season.
• The arena opened Jan. 15, 1992 with the Cardinals posting a 70-64 victory over Miami.
• Ball State is 248-113 (.687) all-time inside Worthen Arena.
• The Cardinals have won at least 10 home games in 16 of the previous 24 seasons in the facility. Last year's team won 12 home games.
