Three Things to Know:
1. Ball State's offense piled up a season-high 393 yards passing and equaled a season best with 41 points last week against Eastern Michigan. However, the Cardinals turned the ball over five times in the loss, the most since committing five in a 35-21 loss to Northern Illinois on Nov. 5, 2014.
2. Toledo held Ball State to a season-low 26 yards rushing in last year's 24-10 setback. The Cardinals rank third in the MAC in rushing yards per game (226.0) this year. Sophomore RB James Gilbert ranks first in the league in rushing yards (1,196) and rushing touchdowns (12). He reached 100 yards rushing in five straight games from Oct. 1 (Northern Illinois) through Nov. 1 (Western Michigan).
3. Senior WR KeVonn Mabon notched personal highs in receptions (12) and touchdowns (3) against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 8. He moved into second place on Ball State's career receptions list (226) and needs 13 more catches to establish a new program record.
By the Numbers:
2 – The Cardinals need to win their final two games to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2013.
3 – Sophomore CB Marc Walton is tied for the league lead with three interceptions. He also leads the league with 14 pass break-ups.
4 – The Cardinals have rushed for at least 250 four times in 2016, most recently on Nov. 1 against Western Michigan.
