MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team will play its fifth road game in seven games this Saturday at Buffalo. Both teams are aiming to earn their first MAC win of the season.

Game Notes: Ball State | Buffalo
1. Ball State's previous three games have all been determined in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. On Sept. 24, the Cardinals scored with 1:47 remaining to earn a 31-27 win at Florida Atlantic. A week later, Northern Illinois kept the ball away from Ball State the final 4:38 to hold on for a 31-24 win. This past Saturday, Central Michigan came up with an interception in the end zone with 1:37 left to pull out a 24-21 win over the Cardinals.
2. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2011. Ball State leads the all-time series by a count of 8-1 and is 4-0 in games played at Buffalo. The Bulls' lone win came in the 2008 MAC Championship game, 42-24.
3. Sophomore RB James Gilbert has reached 100 yards rushing in two straight games and three times overall in 2016. He has already matched his touchdown total from 2015 (eight). Gilbert leads the MAC with 123 rushing attempts and ranks third in rushing yards per game (98.3).
By the Numbers:
2nd – Ball State ranks second nationally in fewest penalties (3.2) and fewest penalty yards (26.3) per game.
4 – WR KeVonn Mabon needs four more receptions to reach 200 for his career. He has tallied at least four catches in every game this season.
11 – Ball State's defense piled up 11 tackles for loss last week at Central Michigan. It was the third time this season the defense has recorded at least 10 tackles for loss.
