Williams Makes Some Noise at NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

MUNCIE, Ind. – Former Ball State football player Jordan Williams led all receivers in receptions and receiving yards at the 2016 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Saturday evening in Carson, Calif. The game was televised nationally on ESPN2.
Williams finished with five receptions for 54 yards, averaging 10.8 yards per catch for the American squad. Three of his five catches resulted in first downs.
The National squad went on to win the game by a score of 18-17. Missouri kicker Andrew Baggett kicked six field goals for the National team, including the game winner early in the fourth quarter.
Founded in 2012, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl gives prospective NFL players the best opportunity to showcase their talents to potential employers and fans. In 2015, scouts from every NFL club and other professional leagues attended the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl's practices and game. Since its inception, many players have gone on to begin careers in professional football. Notable Collegiate Bowl alumni include WR Chris Conley (Kansas City Chiefs), WR Geremy Davis (New York Giants) and OLB Zack Wagenmann (Arizona Cardinals).
The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl experience is much more than a game for the participating players. For one week, participants will receive an in-depth introduction to their future union. The NFLPA, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016, is the primary resource for players for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in their post-football careers.
Williams concluded his Ball State collegiate career ranked fourth in program history in receptions (200) and receiving yards (2,723). The native of Indianapolis, Indiana is tied for third in the school annals with 24 touchdown catches.
As a senior, Williams led the team and ranked sixth in receptions (72) and receiving yards (920). Williams reached 100 yards receiving in three straight games during the middle of the season, highlighted by his performance at No. 17 Northwestern on Sept. 26 – eight catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
