- The Ball State women's basketball team continues play against the Mid-American Conference West Division Saturday when the Cardinals travel to Western Michigan for a 2 p.m. tipoff against the Broncos in Read Fieldhouse/University Arena. Ball State is 13-4 overall and 5-1 in league action. The Cardinals have won five in a row and seven of their last eight contests. Western Michigan is off to a strong start as well posting a 12-6 overall mark and a 4-2 conference ledger. The Broncos have won their last three contests.
- Senior guard Nathalie Fontaine continued her assault on the Ball State women's basketball scoring record Wednesday night after scoring 27 points to lead the Cardinals to a 76-54 Mid-American Conference victory against Eastern Michigan in Worthen Arena. Fontaine entered the game tied with Kate Endress for second on the Cardinals' career scoring list. Her 27 points upped her total to 1,870. She trails only Tamara Bowie's total of 2,091.
-The last time Ball State went 9-0 at home was in 2006-07 under former head women's basketball coach Tracy Roller. That season the Cardinals went 10-1 in John E. Worthen Arena with Ball State's only loss coming against Ohio (66-77) on Jan. 27, 2007.
- Head coach Brady Sallee emphasis how important points in the paint mean to him and the Cardinals have listened this season. Ball State has outscored all of their opponents in the paint but four this season. Ball State vs. Charlotte (30-to-8), Ball State vs. Western Kentucky (30-to-14), Ball State vs. Austin Peay (30-to-18), Ball State vs. Florida (42-to-30), Ball State vs. UMass (30-to-16), Ball State vs. Ohio Valley (62-to-10), Ball State vs. Butler (26-to-12), Ball State vs. Lipscomb (30-to-14), Ball State vs. Purdue (32-fo-26), Ball State vs. Evansville (32-to-8), Ball State vs. Saint Louis (22-to-24), Ball State vs. Toledo (28-to-28), Ball State vs. Ohio (20-to-24), Ball State vs. Miami (34-to-16), Ball State vs. Buffalo (32-to-16), Ball State vs. Bowling Green (24-to-18) and Ball State vs. Eastern Michigan (34-to-22).
- Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee reached his 200th career win at Bowling Green, Jan. 16. Sallee currently owns a 201-160 (.554) career record. Sallee owns a 65-51 (.556) record at Ball State and ranks second all-time in wins. Former head coach Tracy Roller (2001-08) ranks first with a 118-73 record.
- Senior guard Nathalie Fontaine broke the Ball State women's basketball single-game scoring record after a career-high 43-point performance in the Cardinals 73-53 victory at Evansville, Dec. 21. Fontaine becomes the first Cardinal in 12 years to break the single-game scoring record, which was held by former women's basketball player Tama Bowie (1999-2003). Bowie scored 40 points twice, once in 2003 and in 2001. Fontaine's 43-points was the most scored in the Ford Center since it opened in 2011.
