WBB Plays At Bowling Green Saturday In MAC Action

- Ball State returns to the road in Mid-American Conference action, when its travels to Bowling Green Saturday for a 2 p.m. tipoff in the Stroh Center. The Cardinals are 11-4 overall and 3-1 in league action. Ball State has won two in a row and nine of their last 11 contests. Bowling Green is 5-8 overall and 1-3 MAC play.
- After 15 games, three different Cardinals are averaging in double figures in scoring, led by Nathalie Fontaine at 21.7 points per game. Jill Morrison (11.7) and Moriah Monaco (10.9) are also averaging double figures each contest. Fontaine is close to averaging a double-double, pulling down 9.9 rebounds per contest.
- For the second straight contest, junior center Renee Bennett and senior Nathalie Fontaine dominated in the paint for the Cardinals. Bennett scored all of her 16 points in the second half alone while Fontaine finished the night with her 26th career double-double after scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
- Senior guard Nathalie Fontaine broke the Ball State women's basketball single-game scoring record after a career-high 43-point performance in the Cardinals 73-53 victory at Evansville, Dec. 21. Fontaine becomes the first Cardinal in 12 years to break the single-game scoring record, which was held by former women's basketball player Tama Bowie (1999-2003). Bowie scored 40 points twice, once in 2003 and in 2001. Fontaine's 43-points was the most scored in the Ford Center since it opened in 2011.
- The last time Ball State went 8-0 at home was in 2006-07 under former head women's basketball coach Tracy Roller. That season the Cardinals went 10-1 in John E. Worthen Arena with Ball State's only loss coming against Ohio (66-77) on Jan. 27, 2007.
- Head coach Brady Sallee emphasis how important points in the paint mean to him and the Cardinals have listened this season. Ball State has outscored all of their opponents in the paint but four this season. Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee needs two victories to reach his 200th career win. Sallee currently owns a 199-160 (.554) career record.
