WBB Takes On Buffalo At Home In MAC Action Wednesday

- Ball State remains at home to take Mid-American Conference East Division opponent Buffalo on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. This season the Cardinals are 10-4 overall and 2-1 in MAC action. The Bulls are also 10-4 overall and 2-1 in league games. Ball State remains perfect at home with a 7-0 ledger in Worthen Arena this season. Buffalo is 5-3 on the road and is 1-1 against the MAC West Division, losing to Eastern Michigan (67-55) and defeating Central Michigan (67-61). Ball State is 1-1 against the MAC East Division, falling to Ohio (73-48) and defeating Miami (66-41).
- After 14 games, three different Cardinals are averaging in double figures in scoring, led by Nathalie Fontaine at 22.3 points per game. Jill Morrison (11.5) and Moriah Monaco (11.3) are also averaging double figures each contest. Fontaine is close to averaging a double-double, pulling down 9.8 rebounds per contest.
- Senior guard Nathalie Fontaine broke the Ball State women's basketball single-game scoring record after a career-high 43-point performance in the Cardinals 73-53 victory at Evansville, Dec. 21. Fontaine becomes the first Cardinal in 12 years to break the single-game scoring record, which was held by former women's basketball player Tama Bowie (1999-2003). Bowie scored 40 points twice, once in 2003 and in 2001. Fontaine's 43-points was the most scored in the Ford Center since it opened in 2011.
- The last time Ball State went 7-0 at home was in 2006-07 under former head women's basketball coach Tracy Roller. That season the Cardinals went 10-1 in John E. Worthen Arena with Ball State's only loss coming against Ohio (66-77) on Jan. 27, 2007.
- Head coach Brady Sallee emphasis how important points in the paint mean to him and the Cardinals have listened this season. Ball State has outscored all of their opponents in the paint but four this season. - Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee needs two victories to reach his 200th career win. Sallee currently owns a 198-160 career record.
