McIlvaine Participates In Men's Pan American Cup

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State men's volleyball alum Graham McIlvaine has been selected to the U.S. Men's Pan American roster, as announced by USA Volleyball. McIlvaine is one of 12 players set to compete for the United States at the Pan American Cup on Aug. 12-17 in Reno, Nev.
In the first night of competition, the U.S. Men's Team was defeated by Venezuela 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18) on Aug. 12 at the Reno Events Center. McIlvaine was the starting setter for the U.S. Men's Team lineup. The pool play will continue on Thursday when the United States (0-1) will face Mexico (0-1) at 7 p.m. PT and Venezuela (1-0) will take on Argentina (1-0) at 3 p.m.
The Pan American Cup is an annual tournament that gives newcomers to professional men's volleyball the opportunity to face international competition as the United States will face teams from Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela, while other countries set to compete include Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The U.S. men have won the event five times and most recently finished second to Cuba in 2014.
