Leonard & Andersen Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior Ray Leonard and sophomore Lucas Andersen of the Ball State men's tennis team have been named to the 2015 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office. This is the third time Leonard has earned the honor and the first for Andersen.
Leonard, a finance major, graduated from Ball State in May with a 3.69 GPA in Finance. He was named All-MAC First Team for the fourth straight season. Leonard joins former Cardinal Matt Baccarani (2002-06) as the only other players in program history to receive the honor all four years of their career. He is the second Cardinal to receive the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award which is an annual award presented to a senior who has displayed outstanding sportsmanship throughout his career. Alex Brym received the honor is 2012-13.
Andersen, owns a 3.71 GPA and is working towards a degree in Biology. Andersen received All-MAC Second Team honors for the second time in his career. He ended the season with the second best overall record on the team with a 20-13 mark. He also led the team in MAC victories with a 4-1 ledger.
