Baseball Sweeps MAC Weekly Awards

Ball State baseball's Colin Brockhouse was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, while Zach Plesac was named the MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week.
The Cardinals, 21-10 overall and 7-2 in the MAC, will play at Xavier Tuesday before returning to league action Friday through Sunday at MAC East Division leader Kent State.
MAC West Division Baseball Player of the Week

Brockhouse helped Ball State to a 3-2 record last week, including a series win over Akron in Mid-American Conference action . . . In addition to batting .421 on the week, including a .400 average in the Akron series, Brockhouse was 2-0 on the mound with a 2.35 earned-run average . . . He registered a victory over Valparaiso after pitching 4.1 innings, allowing only one run and striking out six . . . He was the winning pitcher in the series finale vs. Akron after throwing the final 3.1 innings, allowing only one earned run and striking out five . . . Brockhouse had a 2.35 ERA last week with 11 strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched and no walks.
MAC West Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Zach Plesac, Ball State, P/DH,

Plesac pitched a complete game in Ball State's 4-1 victory over Akron in the first game of the series Saturday . . . He struck out seven in nine innings and allowed zero earned runs . . . Plesac allowed no extra base hits and walked zero batters in the contest . . . He limited MAC East Division leader Akron to a .219 batting average in the contest.
