Football Assistant Coach Kevin Kelly Talks Defense

Ball State wrapped up its final Saturday spring practice before the April 18 Spring Game and Joel Godett sat down with Coach Kevin Kelly to talk defense.
The Cardinals return 22 lettermen on defense, including seven starters for defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Kevin Kelly.
"It is going great and our guys are doing a great job with their effort," Kelly said. "Our offense is giving us some fits and some good looks, which helps us better prepare for the fall. I love the spring as a football coach. It gives us a chance to look at some things and move some people around. It's a great time to tinker with schemes and get some things done."
Ball State's Spring Practice will continue Tuesday and Wednesday before the annual Spring Game Saturday at 3 p.m. in Scheumann Stadium.
