Football Announces Theme for the 2015 Season
March 25, 2015 | Football
Ball State football has announced its theme for the 2015 season will be “Earn It Today”. The theme was developed by the team's Leadership Council, which was created to maximize the student-athletes input into all operations of the football program.
“Each winter we charge the Leadership Council with several tasks, including the development of a program theme for the upcoming campaign,” Ball State head coach Pete Lembo said. “Our players are always very thoughtful and insightful when it comes to sharing their feelings and establishing a mindset for the team. “Earn It Today”, reflects focusing on a short term approach, a sense of urgency, taking nothing for granted and a blue collar work ethic. I appreciate the efforts of our leadership group and the time commitment they made throughout the offseason.”
The Cardinals are in the midst of Spring Practice in preparation for next fall's Thursday, Sept. 3 season opener vs. VMI in Scheumann Stadium. It will mark the first meeting between the two teams and give fans the chance to see Ball State's 48 returning letterwinners from the 2014 squad.
“This theme places a sense of urgency on our team to stay focused on the present and make each day count,” Ball State senior offensive lineman Jacob Richard said. “The 2015 theme also reflects the fact that nothing will be given to us and must be earned. I am excited about this theme because I believe it can help our team keep perspective on getting better in the here and now.”
Ball State's spring practices are all open to the public. The complete schedule is available on www.ballstatesports.com. The practices will culminate with the annual Spring Game April 18 at 3 p.m. at Scheumann Stadium.
