Women's Dive Complete Day One Of NCAA Diving Zones

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Madie Zirzow and sophomore Brittany Penn competed in the three-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone C Championships hosted by Ohio State University on Thursday afternoon. Zirzow and Penn finished in the preliminaries with scores of 218.95 and 179.75 respectively, though neither of the Cardinals advanced to the finals, which took the 18 highest scores from prelims.
Mid-American Conference foe Miami University's Pei Lin snagged the top spot of the competition with a total score from prelims and finals of 716.75, while Southern Illinois' Kaixuan Zhang followed in second at 682.45 and Indiana University's Jessica Parratto rounded out the top three with a score of 653.25.
One-meter competition will take place tomorrow at 1 p.m., where Zirzow and Penn will compete with dive difficulties of 14.80 and 13.80, respectively. Zirzow contended at a 15.90 difficulty and Penn at a 14.30 difficulty in three-meter competition this afternoon.
DiveMeets.com will be running live results throughout the meet, with prelim action beginning at 1 p.m. and finals to follow directly after.
There are eight berths to the NCAA Championships available in the one-meter, along with nine entries in the three-meter from Zone C this year. In order to advance from prelims to finals, divers must finish in the top-18.
