Football Schedule Features Four Home October Games
February 27, 2015 | Football
Six games at Scheumann Stadium, including four Saturday contests in October, highlight the 2015 Ball State football schedule, announced jointly by Ball State and the Mid-American Conference.
Serving as bookends for the four home games in October are the Thursday night season opener vs. Virginia Military Institute Sept. 3 and the regular season finale vs. Bowling Green Tuesday, Nov. 24.
“We are looking forward to the tremendous challenges and opportunities the 2015 schedule presents for our program,” Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo said. “We are excited to have six home games at Scheumann Stadium, including a Thursday night home opener. Concluding the regular season on a Tuesday night before the Thanksgiving holiday will also be a great feature for our student body.”
Homecoming is set for Oct. 3 when the Cardinals host Toledo, and the showcase event of Family Weekend will occur when Ball State plays Central Michigan Oct. 24.
The MAC had five teams participate in bowl games in 2014 and the Cardinals are the only MAC team to face all five opponents in 2015. In addition to hosting Toledo, Central Michigan and Bowling Green, Ball State travels to Northern Illinois Oct. 10 and Western Michigan Nov. 5. The date with the Huskies marks the earliest in a season the Cardinals have played in DeKalb since Oct. 9, 1999. The MAC had a sixth bowl-eligible team last year with Ohio, but the Bobcats were not selected for a bowl game. Ball State plays at Ohio on Nov. 17.
Only five of the 128 football bowl subdivision teams return more starters in 2015 than Ball State's 18 returning starters. The Cardinals have won 30 games over the past four seasons, the most in a four-year stretch at Ball State since 1977-80.
Season ticket renewal information will be mailed soon and will feature an incentives calendar exclusively for season ticket holders. Ticket prices for the 2015 season remain the same as 2014 prices and begin with general admission seating at $66 for adults and $39 for children between ages 2-18.
