Fontaine Earns Fourth MAC Weekly Honor Of Season

MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior forward Nathalie Fontaine has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, marking the sixth time Fontaine has earned the weekly honor.
With help from Fontaine, the Ball State women's basketball team took sole possession of the Mid-American Conference West Division with a 9-3 league ledger after posting wins over Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green last week. Fontaine led the Cardinals in scoring against the Eagles Wednesday night in the Convocation Center with a 19-point performance. Fontaine also tied her career-high in rebounding against the Eagles pulling down 15 boards.
On Saturday, the Cardinals hosted Bowling Green, which resulted in a 77-52 victory for Ball State. Fontaine scored 13 points in the win and she now has 1,370 points for her career and ranks eighth all-time in scoring for the Cardinals. She has now scored in double figures in 21 of Ball State's 23 games this season and has scored in double digits 76 times in 88 total career.
For the week Fontaine averaged 16.0 points per game, 11.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
The Ball State women's basketball team continues MAC play Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Central Michigan in Worthen Arena.
