Fontaine Earns MAC West Division Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State women's basketball senior guard Nathalie Fontaine has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, marking the eighth time Fontaine has earned the honor in her career and the second time this season.
Fontaine helped the Cardinals open the week with a 72-60 win over Lipscomb, as she scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for her 23rd double-double of her career.
On Sunday, Fontaine turned in a 26-point performance to lead all scorers against Big Ten foe Purdue. With Fontaine's help, Ball State led in three different categories over the Boilermakers including points in the paint (32-of-26), field goal percentage (49.1-to-41.4) and rebounds (33-of-27). Fontaine has scored 20+ points in each of her last five games.
For the week, Fontaine averaged 27.0 points and 11.5 rebounds, while shooting 57.1 percent from the field (20-of-35) and 73 percent from the charity stripe (14-of-19). She needs 10 points to move into third place on Ball State's all-time scoring list.
The Ball State women's basketball team will play at Evansville, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. EST in the Ford Center.
