MUNCIE, Ind. – Senior football player Jordan Williams accepted his invitation to play in the 2016 NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) Collegiate Bowl in California on Jan. 23.
Williams concluded his Ball State collegiate career ranked fourth in program history in receptions (200) and receiving yards (2,723). The native of Indianapolis, Indiana is tied for third in the school annals with 24 touchdown catches.
As a senior, Williams led the team and ranked sixth in receptions (72) and receiving yards (920). Williams reached 100 yards receiving in three straight games during the middle of the season, highlighted by his performance at No. 17 Northwestern on Sept. 26 – eight catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
The fifth-annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl – the only game for the players, by the players – is scheduled for Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. ET and will air nationally on ESPN2. In addition, American and National Team practices on Jan. 20 and 21 will be televised live on ESPNU. The game and practices will also be available via WatchESPN.
The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl experience is much more than a game for the participating players. For one week, participants will receive an in-depth introduction to their future union. The NFLPA, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016, is the primary resource for players for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in their post-football careers.
Mike Martz will attempt to defend his 2015 National Team title against Mike Holmgren's American Team at StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills. For more information about the 2016 NFLPA Collegiate visit http://collegiate.nflpa.com.
