MUNCIE, Ind. – After Ball State took on Mid-American Conference foes Miami and Eastern Michigan this weekend, Madie Zirzow has been named MAC Diver of the Week, announced Monday.
Senior Zirzow put on a show when she earned a score of 289.95 on the one-meter, which is an NCAA zone qualifying score, places her second overall in the Ball State record book, and earned her a second place finish against the RedHawks. The one-meter career-high will make it Zirzow's third career appearance at the NCAA Diving Zones, with this being her second career MAC Diver of the Week honors.
After turning in a season-best score of 267.22 against Miami on the three-meter board, Zirzow rounded out the weekend's action with second overall honors against Eastern Michigan on the one-meter (241.65), while she then went on to post a score of 251.63 on the three-meter. The Cardinals ultimately fell to Miami 188-109, and to Eastern Michigan 179-115.
The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 21 when it hosts the 12th annual Doug Coers Invitational with the Ball State men's swimming and diving program at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.
