MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's basketball fourth-year head coach Brady Sallee announced the signing of three players to national letters of intent during the early signing period, which opened Wednesday.
“We are really excited to welcome Aliyah, Megan and Morgan to our basketball program,” Sallee said. “They all fill some very specific need for us, but most importantly they are all impressive, high-character young ladies.”
Morgan Glatczak (Mukwonago, Wis./Wukwonago), Aliyah Walker (Indianapolis, Ind./Brownsburg) and Megan Walton (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) have each signed a NLI to play basketball at Ball State, starting in the 2016-17 season.
Glatczak, a 6-foot-4 post player from Mukwonago High School, had a breakout junior season, averaging 10.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. For her efforts she earned First Team All-Classic 8 Conference and All-Area Team High Honorable mention honors. She also played AAU basketball for the Wisconsin WBA Prestige program.
“I am so thankful that Morgan chose to play for me at Ball State. Her size, talent level, versatility and work ethic make her an exciting addition to our club! There is nothing she cannot do on the basketball court and I look forward to seeing her progression in our system. Morgan will be a special player here in Muncie!”
One of two wing players joining Ball State in 2016-17, Walker comes from Brownsburg High School where she averaged 14.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game as a junior. For the last two seasons, the 5-foot-10 Indiana Junior All-Star has been named to the Hoosier Crossroads All-Conference Team. She was also the recipient of the Indiana Classic Basketball All-Star Classic Mental Attitude Award. A three-time All-County recipient, Walker pulled down a school record 26 rebounds against Carmel last season, topping the previous record of 25 set in 1978. Walker also plays AAU basketball for the Indy Gym Rats.
“What I love about Aliyah is the aggressiveness and fearlessness that she plays with from start to finish. She will be an absolute rebounding machine and with her impressive combination of athleticism and strength, she will prove to be a matchup nightmare. The sky is the limit for Aliyah!"
Walton, a 5-foot-9 wing player from Hamilton Southeastern High School, has averaged 16.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in her first two games this season. As a junior, Walton averaged 11.2 points and brought down 3.5 rebounds per contest. In 2013, Walton was the Hamilton Southeastern Player of the Game after her performance against Lake Central. Walton was named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Underclass girls basketball team as a junior, and participated in the IBCA basketball showcase. She was also a Hoosier Crossroad All-Conference recipient last season. Walton played AAU basketball for the Indy Gym Rats.
“Megan is the perfect fit for our Ball State basketball program. She is a lefty that can do it all and will prove to be an incredible asset for us in many places. As skilled of a player as she is, what I love most about her is her toughness. Megan will be a very important addition for us and I can't wait to get her here!
