Women's Swim & Dive Complete Annual Red / White Meet

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming and diving team held its annual Red and White Intrasquad meet Saturday morning at the Lewellen Aquatic Center to kick off the 2015 season.
The Red Team came out on top with 120 points, while the White Team registered a score of 103.
Sophomore Amanda Kedzierski (Irwin, Penn./Hempfield Area) led the red team with two first place finishes, including the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Kedzierski also teamed up with Andrea Richter (Roanoke, Ind./Columbia City), Morgan Brebberman (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) and Maryn Meldrum (Greenville, Ind./Floyd Central) to open the meet with a top finish in the 200 medley relay.
Other top finishers for the Red Team included freshman Lauren Elston (Muncie, Ind./Yorktown) in the 200 freestyle, sophomore Taylor Fiew (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) who earned the top score in one-meter diving competition, and freshman Liz Madison (Normal, Ill./University) who touched the wall first in the 500 freestyle.
White Team captain Madie Zirzow (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) topped the three-meter diving competition. Prior to teaming up with Hannah Cressman (Brentwood, Tenn./Ravenwood) and Courtney Mudd (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) to close out the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay, team members Kimberly Scott (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) led the 200 individual medley, and Jessica Extine (Muncie, Ind./Yorktown) won the 50 freestyle.
Sophomore Jenna Zitkus (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) finished first in the 100 back, while junior Katie Horn (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) rounded out the White Team's top finishes of the day with a first place finish in the 100 butterfly.
The women's swimming and diving team will officially open the 2015-16 regular season Saturday, Oct. 17 when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind. for the Indiana Intercollegiate meet.
