Football has Seven Honored on Academic All-MAC Team

The Mid-American Conference announced its 2014 Football Academic All-MAC team and Ball State had seven student-athletes honored, including three-time selection Jacob Richard.
A total of 135 student-athletes were named to the team, while only seven matched the three-time selection of Richard.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average on the school's 4.0 scale and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Joining Richard on the team from Ball State are Steven Bell, Sam Brunner, Nick Miles, Drake Miller, Vinnie Palazeti and Darnell Smith.
Bell, an elementary education major, owns a 3.383 cumulative GPA, while Brunner has a 3.503 mark as a social studies education major. Miles, a marketing major, owns a 3.246 GPA, while Miller has a 3.397 mark as a health and physical education major. Palazeti has a 3.333 GPA as a business major and Smith has a 3.371 mark as a marketing major.
Richard, a 2013 and 2014 All-MAC Third Team selection, owns a 3.619 GPA a marketing major at Ball State.
