WBB Faces BGSU On The Road In MAC Opener Saturday

- The Ball State women's basketball suffered a 73-68 overtime loss in its last non-conference game of the season Tuesday night at Chaifetz Arena. The Cardinals were led by a 15-point performance from Jill Morrison. Nathalie Fontaine and Shelbie Justice each had 14-points on the night while also adding six rebounds apiece. The Cardinals close out their four-game road swing when it opens Mid-American Conference play at Bowling Green Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Stroh Center. Ball State is looking for their first road win of the season after falling to Saint Louis in overtime by a score of 73-68. Ball State has also suffered losses on the road at Western Kentucky (84-59), Pitt (59-47), Butler (48-41) and Louisville (69-56).
- Bowling Green enters today's contest with a 7-4 record. The Falcons are looking for its first win in two-games after losing to Hampton (64-53) and Florida Internation University (68-55). BGSU owns a 2-1 record at home this season. The Falcons have wins over Iona (80-59), Milwaukee (60-50), UC Irvine (62-54), Cincinnati (66-55), Saint Francis University (76-62), Illinois State (58-54) and Bradley (61-47). Bowling Green has suffered losses to Bucknell (53-52), Loyola Marymount (51-48), Hampton (64-53) and Florid International (68-55).
- Saturday's game against the Falcons will mark the 60th time in program history the two schools have met with Bowling Green leading the all-time series 44-15. In the two schools last meeting, Ball State pulled out a thrilling 73-55 win over 25th-ranked Bowling Green in the semifinals of the 2014 MAC Tournament in Quicken Loans Arena. Ball State is 1-1 when it opens league action versus Bowling Green. The last time the Cardinals opened MAC play against the Falcons was at home in 1987-88 which resulted in a 76-66 loss for Ball State.
