
Men's Swim & Dive Falls To Both IUPUI and Xavier

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swim and dive team fell to both IUPUI and Xavier at a co-ed double dual meet Friday evening. The Cards finished at 103-185 behind Xavier and at 85-215 under IUPUI, while recording 12 top-five finishes.
Sophomore Tanner Barton recorded the lone individual event win for the Cardinals in the 200 butterfly, where Ball State ultimately swept the event. Barton combined with fellow sophomores Bradley Ridge and Jacob Eckert to take the event with times of 1:56.19, 1:58.56 and 2:01.30, respectively. Barton rounded out his top five finishes with a second place time in the 100 fly where he clocked 52.65.
Senior Andrew Sullenbarger snagged third in the 200 back at 1:57.68, followed by fifth place finishes in the 100 backstroke (54.38), and in the 200 medley relay while pairing with Ridge, Cole Smith, and Zach Toman.
Sophomore Smith was consistent with a fourth place finish in the 100 freestyle, followed by four other fifth place times.
Ridge rounded out the Cardinals top-five finishes with an individual fourth place finish in the 100 fly (53.49).
Freshmen divers Tyler Nock and Seth Winslow set new career highs on both 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Nock notched a 248.03 while Winslow posted a 246.43 in the 1-meter, followed by 248.45 for Nock and 225.75 for Winslow in the 3-meter.
The Ball State men's swimming and diving team will be back at home Saturday, Jan. 17, when they host Mid-American Conference foe Evansville at 2 p.m. in their senior meet at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.
