Crawford Posts MAC Auto Qualifying Mark At Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich. - - Junior Christina Crawford (Belleville, Mich./Romulus) led a strong performance from the Ball State outdoor track & field team at Thursday's Hillsdale Classic.
In the team's final tune-up before next week's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Ohio, Crawford posted her second MAC automatic qualifying mark of the season when she placed second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.90. Crawford also won the long jump with a leap of 5.80m at the Hillsdale Classic, an event in which she had previously posted a MAC automatic mark in.
Overall, the Cardinals earned two event victories, five career-best performances and 13 top five efforts at the non-scored meet.
Ball State's other event victory game in the 3000m steeplechase, with junior Courtney Edon (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) crossing the finish line in 11:23.45. Her twin sister, Caitlynn Edon (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine), placed second with a time of 11:38.22.
