Elliott And Stutz Earn MAC Weekly Tennis Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior Patrick Elliott was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Singles Player of the Week and also received MAC Doubles Team of the Week along with freshman Andrew Stutz.
A two-time career MAC Player of the Week, Elliott managed to go 2-0 last weekend in singles action at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Elliott took down Dartmouth's Chris Kipouras in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 Friday at No. 2 singles. Elliott then played on court one Saturday against Illinois State, beating the Redbirds' Jacob Wilson, 6-1, 6-2. With the wins, Elliott leads the Cardinals in dual action with a 7-2 overall record.
The Ball State twosome of Elliott and Stutz went 3-0 over the weekend for the Cardinals. The twosome began the weekend with an 8-4 victory over Dartmouth's Diego Pedrazz and Kipouras at the No. 2 position. The duo then continued its winning ways Saturday with an 8-2 win over Illinois State's Jacob Wilson and Krajnc Urh Domiter at the No. 2 position. In Ball State's last match, Elliott and Stutz did not give up a game to Drew Lovern and Connor Whiteside of Anderson, defeating the twosome 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues non-conference action Friday at Vanderbilt (3 p.m. EST) and Saturday at Lipscomb (11 a.m. EST).
