WBB Closes Non-Conference Play At St. Louis Tuesday

- After a week-long break for the holiday, Ball State heads back on the road Tuesday for its final non-conference game of the season when it battles Saint Louis in Chaifetz Arena at 8 p.m. (EST). The game against Saint Louis marks the third-straight contest the Cardinals have played on the road. Ball State will close out a four-game road swing when it opens Mid-American Conference play at Bowling Green Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Stroh Center. The Cardinals are looking for their first road win of the season after falling to Western Kentucky before the break by a score of 84-59. Ball State has also suffered losses on the road at Louisville (69-56), Butler (48-41) and Pitt (59-47). At Western Kentucky, freshman Moriah Monaco led the Cardinals in scoring with 13 points while sophomore Jill Morrison ended the day with 12, which included four baskets from behind the arc. Sophomore Renee Bennett led the team defensively with five rebounds and added 11 points.
- Saint Louis enters Tuesday's contest with a 6-6 record after defeating Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee's former team, Eastern Illinois, by a score of 63-49 on the road Sunday. The Billikens are on a two-game winning streak and are 2-2 at home for the season. Saint Louis' five other wins came against SIU-Edwardsville (74-63), Southeast Missouri (74-56), Tulsa (63-58), Missouri-St. Louis (68-49) and Utah Valley (68-66). Saint Louis has suffered losses to Indiana State (63-60), Vanderbilt (75-57), Mizzou (74-55), Mercer (80-75), Indiana State (68-58) and Austin Peay (86-81).
- Four years ago on this exact date in 2010 the Ball State women's basketball team ended its non-conference season with a 78-59 win over Saint Louis at Worthen Arena. Ball State leads the all-time series over the Billikens, 4-3. The Cardinals last played at Chaifetz Arena in 2008-09 which resulted in a 79-69 loss for Ball State.
