WBB Takes To The Road For Sunday Matchup At WKU

- Ball State closes out its two-game road swing Sunday afternoon against Western Kentucky. The game will begin at 3 p.m. in E.A. Diddle Arena. After Sunday's contest, the Cardinals will take a break for the holiday before Ball State returns to non-conference Dec. 30 when it travels to Saint Louis for the Cardinals last non-conference game of the season. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. tipoff in Chaifetz Arena. Ball State is looking to close out its two-game road trip with a victory after suffering a 59-47 loss at Pitt Thursday night in the Petersen Event Center. Junior Nathalie Fontaine led the Cardinals in scoring with a 15-point performance. The game also marked newcomer Frannie Frazier's first appearance as a Cardinal, Frazier scored four points and added three rebounds.
- Western Kentucky enters Sunday's contest with a 9-2 record after defeating Austin Peay on the road Dec. 16 by a score of 91-68. The Hill Toppers are on a six-game win streak and are 5-0 at home. WKU has also defeated Central Arkansas (93-57), Colorado (79-78 OT), Albany (63-54), Tulane (69-64), Hofstra (70-65), Alabama A&M (96-44), Ole Miss (98-69) and Alabama State (93-54). The Hill Toppers have only lost to Mississippi State (88-77) and Louisville (89-67).
-Ball State leads the all-time series over Western Kentucky, 2-1. The Cardinals defeated the Hill Toppers 85-77 last season in Worthen Arena. Ball State's only meeting at E.A. Diddle Arena came in 2008-09 when Ball State earned a 72-71 overtime victory in Bowling Green, Ky. The lone win for the Hill Toppers was in 2009-10 when WKU defeated Ball State 61-58 in Worthen Arena.
-Ball State is 1-4 when it plays on Dec. 8. The last time the Cardinals played on this date resulted in a 64-61 loss to Wyoming in 2012-13 at Worthen Arena.
