Ball State wraps up the week before the holidays with a two-game road swing which starts Thursday night against Pitt. The game will begin at 7 p.m. in the Petersen Event Center. After that, the Cardinals will take to the road again when they travel to Western Kentucky Sunday for a 2 p.m. tipoff in E.A. Diddle Arena. The Cardinals are coming off of a 76-66 win over Charlotte Monday night in Worthen Arena. Ball State had four players score in double figures, including an 18-point effort from junior Nathalie Fontaine. Calyn Hosea scored 14 and led the team with nine rebounds. Shelby Merder added 12 in the win and Candyce Ussery ended the night with 10.
- Pitt enters Thursday's contest with a 6-3 record after defeating Drexel by a score of 72-53, Sunday at home. Yacine Diop and Monica Wignot led the way for the Panthers with 14 points apiece. Brianna Kiesel had 12 and Stasha Carey scored nine points while leading the team defensively with 14 rebounds. The Panthers have also earned wins over Niagara (70-54), Michigan (85-64), Radford (72-47), Loyola (MD) (84-46) and Ohio State (78-74).
- Pitt played at Worthen Arena for the first time in program history last season. The Panthers won the game 63-58. It was the first time Ball State had faced Pitt since 1993-94 when the Cardinals fell to the Panthers 79-69, Dec. 30 at the Pittsburgh Invitational. Pitt leads the all-time series 2-0.
-Ball State is 1-4 when it plays on Dec. 8. The last time the Cardinals played on this date resulted in a 64-61 loss to Wyoming in 2012-13 at Worthen Arena.
