- Ball State returns to Worthen Arena Monday night when it hosts Charlotte for a 7 p.m. tipoff. The Cardinals are looking for a win after suffering a 48-41 loss to Butler Saturday night in Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Cardinals were led by Shelbie Justice and Jill Morrison with 12 points apiece, while teammate Nathalie Fontaine finished the night with nine.
- Ball State and Charlotte have faced each other only once in program history. The last time Ball State took on Charlotte was in 2006-07 at the SPC Holiday Classic resulting in a 82-72 victory for the Cardinals.
- Charlotte enters tonight's contest with an overall record of 2-6. The 49ers recently defeated Charleston Southern Dec. 7, by a score of 75-43. Before Charlotte's victory the 49ers had lost six straight. Charlotte has suffered losses to North Carolina State (63-70), Elon (54-67), Montana (58-67, Wake Forest (58-65), Princeton (43-73) and No. 1/2 South Carolina (61-82). The 49ers first win of the season was at Liberty (79-77) in Charlotte's season opener.
-Ball State is 2-2 when it plays on Dec. 15. The last time the Cardinals played on this date resulted in a 73-51 loss at Ohio State in 1996-97. Ball State's last win at home on this date resulted in a 69-55 win over Cincinnati in 1990-91.
- The Cardinals have a long week ahead of them, after tonight's contest Ball State closes out non-conference action with a three-game roadswing when it travels to Pittsburgh (12/18), Western Kentucky (12/21) and will close out the year with a trip to Saint Louis (12/30).
