The Cardinals Nest
- Ball State hosts the 2014 Ball State Federal Credit Union Thanksgiving Classic this weekend. The first game begins at 12 p.m. Saturday in Worthen Arena when Jackson State faces Duquesne. The Cardinals are slated to play Murray State at 2:30 p.m. Sunday's consolation game will also be at 12 p.m. and tipoff for the championship game will be 2:30 p.m. The last time Ball State hosted a classic that was sponsored by the Ball State Federal Credit Union was Nov. 25-26 in 2006-07.
- Sophomore guard Jill Morrison has earned Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career. This is the second straight week the Cardinals have won MAC Weekly honors. Junior Nathalie Fontaine won the award last week. Morrison averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds over Ball State's two games last week. She also had 10 assists and four steals. She had eight three point baskets and shot 90 percent from the charity stripe.
- Ball State has not played Murray State since 2012, in Brady Sallee's first year as a head coach for the Cardinals. Ball State suffered a 63-53 setback in Murray, Kentucky that season. Saturday's game is the third meeting all-time between the two schools. The Racers lead the all-time series 1-2. The last time Ball State won was by a score of 90-72 in 2005-06 at Murray State. Ball State could face either Duquesne or Jackson State in its next game. The Cardinals lead the all-time series over Duquesne 2-1 but lost their last meeting 86-51 in 2010-11 at Worthen Arena. If Ball State faces Jackson State it will be the first-ever meeting in women's basketball.
- Murray State enters today's game with a 3-2 overall record. The Racers are coming off of a 74-71 win over Limpscomb. Murray State has played one other MAC school this season when it welcomed the Ohio Bobcats to the CFSB Center. The Racers fell to Ohio by a score of 111-60.
