The Cardinals Nest
- Ball State hosts its second in-state school of the season when it welcomes Evansville to Worthen Arena Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff. The last time Ball State played Evansville was last season when the Cardinals fell to the Purple Aces 80-69. The all-time series record is tied 6-6. The Cardinals have lost their last two meetings against Evansville. Ball State defeated the Purple Aces 55-50 Nov. 26, 2011, in Evansville. The last time the Cardinals defeated Evansville at home was in 2010 when Ball State earned a 61-58 victory over the Purple Aces in Worthen Arena.
- The Cardinals are looking for their first win of the season after suffering a 66-60 loss to Big Ten foe Purdue in its 2014-15 season opener at home Friday night in front of 4,012 fans, which was the third largest crowd in program history. Junior Nathalie Fontaine led the Cardinals and became the 23rd member of the Ball State women's basketball 1,000-point club after tallying 21 points on the night. She now has 1,018 points for her career and reached the 1,000 point club faster than any player in Ball State history except for Hall of Famer Tamara Bowie. She also led the Cardinals with 12 rebounds, while Shelbie Justice added 14 points and eight rebounds. Jill Morrison was the third Ball State player to score in double figures with 12 points, while Calyn Hosea led the team with five assists.
- Fontaine was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week after her 21 point and 12 rebound performance at home against Purdue Friday. This marks the third time in the juniors career she has earned MAC weekly honors.
- Evansville is coming off of a 72-68 victory over Austin Peay Sunday at the Ford Center. Sophomore guard Sara Dickey led all Lady Aces with 20 points as sophomore forward Sasha Robinson netted nine points and a career-high 16 rebounds in the victory. Senior forward Mallory Ladd notched her 16th career double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Senior guard Khristian Hart also provided 13 points off the bench.
