All-Access: Football's Walk-On Impact
November 10, 2014 | Football
Walk-ons are integral to any college athletics team, especially at a state school, with in-state tuition for local students. That fact couldn't be more true for Ball State football, with eight former walk-ons on scholarship this season.
When people think 'walk-on' they usually think of Rudy, a glorified tackling dummy that just wants the thirll of one day suiting up for a game. Well it doesn't quite work like that, especially not in a Pete Lembo coached program. Take a look at this Ball State All-Access feature that introduces you to the team's former walk-ons, their stories and their efforts to make it to the proverbial top.
The Cards are next in action Wednesday night at UMass. The game will be broadcast locally on the Ball State Radio Network and 104.1 WLBC and nationally on ESPNU.
